The Pilates Body is an intelligently-written book that takes you step-by-step through the mat
exercises. The Kit is fantastic if you're an auditory learner: she provides flash cards of the exercises and describes them in detail on a CD. She then takes you through the exercises at regular speed. If you are tired of being confined to your TV to do Pilates videos, try these CD's for a change of pace. Brooke Siler is trained in the same program that I graduated from, so her order and the details she points out are the same as what I teach.

Pilates' diatribe on everything from proper posture and breathing to how to
raise healthy children and what furniture to buy for your spinal alignment. "Your Health" lashes out against the physical education system of 1934, but many of the themes still hold true today.

This book represents the first major publication in 1945 by Joseph H. Pilates and William J. Miller detailing the exercises, poses, and instructions fundamental to the matwork developed by Joseph and Clara Pilates. Based on his concepts of a balanced Body and Mind, these exercises are drawn from the approach espoused by the early Greeks and developed over the course of Pilates' life.
