GROUP CLASSES

Click here for a list of current classes. The class size is generally limited to 8 or less. At the Beginner level, you are introduced to a series of exercises that you continue to improve and build upon in the Intermediate and Advanced levels. The mat classes build camaraderie and confidence as clients progress through the series.

Group classes are bought as a series and must be paid in full before the first class starts. If you have to miss a class one week, you can make it up at any other class of equal or lesser value within the time frame of the series. Click here for prices and payment options.

You may also create or join a semi-private class at Springboard. These are smaller, more tailored classes that vary in price and equipment used depending on number of participants each week.

Interested in setting up a corporate Pilates class for a training program or retreat? We are available to set up special classes in your space or ours! If you are interested in participating in or organizing one of these, call for details.

Classes fill up, so please send your checks early to reserve a space.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

We prefer that all students start at the Beginner level regardless of physical ability. This allows us to teach you a thorough understanding of the Method as it was taught to us by Romana Kryzanowska in the Authentic Pilates™ studio in New York City. The Beginner pace is a little slower than other classes, but students can still get a deep and effective workout in these classes.

Beginner: This series is an introduction to the principles of Pilates. We start at the Basic and add on Intermediate exercises each week until we have covered the full Intermediate by the end of the series. $11 / $12 / $15

Beginner/Intermediate: Beginner/Intermediate moves a little faster than the Beginner class, although it still focuses on getting the basic Pilates principles into the body. Beginners in good health are welcome to join this class, and others may use it to continue sharpening their basic skills. $11 / $12 / $15

Intermediate: At this level, we assume that students have some familiarity with the Intermediate exercises, and we focus on depth and pace. We may sprinkle in some Advanced exercises if the class is ready. $11 / $12 / $15

Intermediate/Advanced: The Intermediate/Advanced class takes people at the Intermediate level and prepares them for the additional exercises in the advanced routine. The emphasis on flow and form from the intermediate level continues here. $11 / $12 / $15

Advanced: Here we assume the students have familiarity with the Advanced exercises. This class moves fast, so come ready to get sweaty! $11 / $12 / $15

Open Level: This class is a good, safe, all-around workout that emphasizes strength and flexibility. This is a fun trial-by-fire way to introduce yourself to Pilates, or touch base with your practice if you have already been studying. $11 / $12 / $15

Ab Fab a Go-Go: This is a quick-paced classical workout at the Intermediate level. Use this half hour class to strengthen your abs while working on precision, breath and flow. $7.50 / $8 / $10

Back to Basics Mat: This class is a good, safe, all-around workout that digs deeply into the basic principles of Pilates beginner matwork. This class is a fun way to introduce yourself to Pilates, or get back to the basics in your practice if you have already been studying for a while. $11 / $12 / $15

Flow a Go-Go: This class covers the classical intermediate/advanced workout. Come ready to work on flow and breath and make the workout your own. Mat experience and knowlege of the classical order is a must to keep the flow going. $7.50 / $8 / $10

Machine/Mat Medley: Live spontaneously with this 50 minute machine class. Each week will focus on a different piece of equipment including Universal Reformer, Wunda Chair, Tower, Low Barrel, PilatesStick, Hand Weights, Magic Circles and more! There are only 4 spots in the class, so sign up early to hold your place. The class is meant for healthy bodies. Please note the level of the class on the website or flyer when signing up. "Intermediate" assumes you have some experience with the equipment. "Beginner" is best if you have little to no experience on the equipment. $18 / $20 / $22

Pilates a Go-Go: This is a 30 minute quick fix of Pilates matwork for those at the Intermediate and Advanced levels. We will get right to business and move quickly from one exercise to the next, enjoying the vigorous pace of the classical routine as Joseph Pilates intended it to be performed. The instructor will give fewer corrections, allowing the student to focus on his or her own body rhythms and improvements. $7.50 / $8 / $10

Pilates for Mommies: Mommies and other caregivers deserve a little baby-free time to breathe and stretch and work on their strength, right? Pilates for Mommies is designed around that belief. Here's how it works: a pair of moms takes turns watching the kids during the 12-2 pm drop-in time at Birth Roots while the other takes a Pilates class across the street at Springboard Pilates. Half way through, they switch places. It's easy, your child is with someone you trust, you get a little breather in your day, and there's free parking: who could ask for more? $11 / $12 / $15

Pilates for Teens: This class is tailored exclusively for teenagers to have fun exploring the Pilates mat work. Designed to lay a clear foundation of the Pilates principles, Pilates for Teens uses the basic mat work and key concepts to encourage positive body awareness and self-confidence. Scheduling possibilities available for a group of four or more. $11 / $12 / $15

PilatesStick Mat: This class is based on classical Pilates mat work with the added bonus of the PilatesStick prop. The PilatesStick offers resistance and assistance on various exercises to help deepen the body's understanding of connecting to the core muscles during movement. $11 / $12 / $15

Pre-Natal Pilates a Go-Go: When you're pregnant, everything about your body feels a little off kilter. In this class, we will focus on core stability work on the mat with the use of many props to prepare the body for pregnancy, labor and beyond. We have found that 30 minutes is just the right amount of time to hone that inner strength without leaving you feeling exhausted. Pair this with a private session and/or another class to explore the full benefits that Pilates has to offer your pregnant body. $7.50 / $8 / $10

Pre-Natal Reformer Go-Go: When you're pregnant, everything about your body feels a little off kilter. In this machine/mat combo class, we have coupled the spring-loaded resistance work of the machines with the integral core stability work on the mat to prepare the body for pregnancy, labor and beyond. We have found that 30 minutes is just the right amount of time to hone that inner strength without leaving you feeling exhausted. We have found that these small classes of three people are quick, fun, and affordable, and most of our pre-natal clients try to fit in two to three of them per week. $11 / $12 / $15

Pre/Post Natal Mat: This class is designed for pregant women, new moms or anyone having trouble getting back in touch with the abdominals (for example after surgery in the midsection). Carefully modified exercises combined with safe challenges to meet each person's working level will be the marker of this basic Pilates mat class. $11 / $12 / $15

Pre/Post Natal Tower Go-Go: This machine/mat combo class is an opportunity to get on classical Pilates equipment (like the Reformer or Tower) in combination with doing the matwork to keep your core strong for labor or to regain core strength after giving birth. Machine & Mat Combo Go-Go classes are a fun and affordable way to get in a half hour workout that leaves you feeling recharged instead of exhausted. Class size is limited to three, so sign up early to reserve your space. $11 / $12 / $15

Prop-a-licious: This class is a good, safe, all-around workout that uses all kinds of props (balls, bands, power circles, etc) to gain strength and flexibility. This is a fun trial-by-fire way to introduce yourself to Pilates, or touch base with your practice if you have already been studying. $11 / $12 / $15

Post-Post-Natal Mat: This class is designed for moms who are at least 6 months postpartum (but there is no cutoff date on the other end: even mothers of 30-year-olds are welcome!). This class, which involves the resistance training of the PilatesStick and other props, focuses on sculpting and toning and, well, "putting things back where they used to be." This is for moms who are ready to get their groove back and workOUT! $11 / $12 / $15

Semi-private Class: These are small group classes ranging in size from two to four people that use the machines and/or mats depending on how many people are present each week. It gives participants flexibility of schedule (you are not committed to every week if you don't want to be) and the opportunity to try the machines as well as the mats. Cost depends on how many people sign up each week. Availability varies. Call for details.

Therapeutic Mat: This class is an introduction to the principles of Pilates, intentionally emphasizing a therapeutic approach to the basic mat work. Great for people recovering from an injury or working through a weakness, this class is for anyone who wants to get a safe, thorough workout that emphasizes core strengthening and self care techniques. $11 / $12 / $15
