At Springboard, we know our studio wouldn’t be the same without you: our clients and friends! So we have decided to showcase some of you so that everyone else can see how lucky we are to know you.
This month, we want to introduce you to one of our favorites: Julie Sullivan! We just know you will love her, too. Make sure you read to the end: Julie’s last couple of lines are why we teachers do what we do and love it so much!
Name & Age:
Julie Sullivan, 43
How long have you done Pilates?
A little over 8 months
Classes/lessons you currently attend at Springboard:
A Machine/Mat Medley class with Ashley, a Trio with Cathryn, a Trio with Jen, and Bootcamp with David and Ashley
What’s your “day job”?
I am the Public Health Director for the City of Portland
Activities you enjoy outside the studio:
Laughing with my 9-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son; walking/hiking with my dog; getting lost in a good book
Sushi; currently in sugar detox or would have said chocolate
So, so hard to pick just one! How about Deborah Harkness’ All Souls trilogy. Kind of a more historical, grown-up Harry Potter. Burn!
Pilates exercise you’d like to conquer in 2014:
Front Splits on the Reformer or feeling less ridiculous doing Short Spine.
First memory or impression of Springboard:
I did my first intro session with Meredith, and loved her calm, soothing yet upbeat and motivating manner.
Anything you’d like to add:
Jen once said during class, “Feel how good it feels to be strong.” This really resonated with me, and I love that Pilates has led me to stand up taller, walk faster, and feel better in my body. Pilates has also led me to revamp how I eat and find sustainable motivation to live a healthier, fitter life.
